Jewel Box® Home Quick Tips

A million little steps go into running a home each day and living life.  Family, friends, children, pets, work, hobbies and so many other things need our attention.  So I'm starting Jewel Box® Home Quick Tips.  Small tricks and simple ways to make 'keeping up with life' easier and more fun.

Here are two tips to keep your garden green and happy.

Water potted plants daily.  Plants in containers need more water than garden plants.  That's because moisture evaporates more quickly out of pots.  So to keep your green potted
'babies' happy, water them daily even after it rains.

We had a thunderstorm last night, but my potted garden 'babies' still get a daily helping of water.

Use dried moss to add garden greenery.   Dried moss is like duct tape for the garden.  Use it between patio pavers for instant greenery or to cover the base of plants for a clean look and to retain moisture.

Potted boxwood topiaries and bacopa on my back patio with moss covering plant bases.

You can find dried moss at any garden store or most craft shops for about $9.99 a bag.

Cheers!

Genevieve
